This one-hour online lesson shows you how to simplify the Microsoft Project interface. Any version of Microsoft Project from 2000 or later may be used; the lesson uses MSP 2007 for its illustrations.
The lesson is in two parts. The first part is a detailed presentation that shows you step-by-step how to customize toolbars, set interface options, and apply the Task Sheet view. The second part is an online interactive hands-on training exercise and downloaded exercise file which walks you through the most useful interface configuration steps. You will practice working with the entry bar, cell formatting, turning on and off the standard and formatting toolbars, using menus and shortcuts, creating your own toolbar, managing floating and docked toolbars, customizing toolbars, working with the view bar and the view menu, changing date formats, turning on and off the Project Guide, applying the Task Sheet, displaying the Entry and Cost tables, and showing and hiding change highlighting (MSP 2007 new feature).
